Your remarks about what a human player can and cannot do are inaccurate, according to my experience.

Not all players are perfectly consistent. For example some will refuse to double when they have a double shot and then double a roll later when they only have a single shot. That happened recently and I have seen countless other examples of inconsistency.

So I can imagine someone not cubing before the 31 and then cubing once the bar has been made.
