"I once lost in the 1st round of a Main flight on a Friday. That sent me into round 1 of the progressive Consolation on Saturday morning. I then worked all the way through the consolation only to lose in the last match. As this was a "Fighters Bracket" tournament, if I had won, I would have entered the playoff bracket. I had a very long Saturday.

Instead, my loss put me into a Last Chance that used fresh seeding. I had to be available for a 9:00 a.m. (or was it 9:30 a.m.?) start on Sunday. Pumped up from my long day, I ended up getting only 4 hours sleep. When I arrived at the tournament hall Sunday, I learned I had won a first round bye. That was little help, however, because I had already been deprived of the extra hour of sleep I would have had if progressive seeding had been used in the Last Chance."

Do you recall how many matches you had to play on Saturday? Do you recall why the conso didn't start on Friday for a round or two?

9 or 9:30 start for LC? What utter nonsense! Unless the event is very large (by ABT) standards the LC can't be more than 6 rounds and it doesn't take that long to finish a tourney with 6 rounds of 5 pt matches. Once again, I urge directors to use more of Sunday especially for tourneys near Airports so people can get there quickly after play if needed.
