London Open Monday Update: Filming and free chocolates

Things progressing very well for the Backgammon London Open 2015.

Trophies are ordered and being processed as we speak.

Rick has very kindly offered to donate filming equipment to make sure that we can record and broadcast matches. We will be broadcasting matches live with live commentary. We will also be publishing all tournament brackets online as well as tweeting regularly to make sure that even if you cannot attend the tournament you can keep up to date with it.

We meet with the head honchos at the Hippodrome tomorrow to iron out the schedule. We will then publish a definitive guide to start/registration times. Hopefully this will be out in the next couple of days.

We have been overwhelmed by offers of support and volunteers to help us run the weekend - thank you to everyone - it is really, really appreciated.

Simon Morecroft has started a 'Stay With Me' pledge for London-based players. He offered his spare room to any out-of-towner to stay with him for free if they were attending the London Open. A fantastic initiative. Simon's spare room has now gone but we hope there will be many more.

The UKBGF meets in person on Thursday and obviously the London Open is our top priority. Many of us are meeting tonight at the RAC Club Quarterly Tournament - this will be the hot topic of discussion.

Another 10 people have signed up today. We are confident that the London Open 2015 will be at least a 128 player tournament. It would be great to get it bigger than last year :-)

And finally Raj is ordering some unique UKBGF chocolates that will be freely available at the London Open 2015 - if that doesn't make you want to attend I don't know what will!
