i didnt mean to sound disrespectful, if i offended you in any way i'm very sorry it was not intended. And I apologize.
i agree bringing people to participate in BG is something i feel is very important, i watched pool die. BG is thriving compared to pool, and i'd guess bowling too.
I'm not sure if added $$ to a tourney will draw new players. I do know it subsidizes and encourages existing players to participate.
In a hypothetical situation lets say there was $1,000,000 that could be cut up for 20 tourneys in America in 2016. I use 20 figuring a little less than 2/month for a year. That's $50,000/tourney. That much money is a game changer, you would see players come out from under rocks that disappeared long ago for any number of reasons to have a shot at that much $, and restructuring the distribution of $$ among the top 8 players in a tourney with the added 50K, it would be possible for some better players to "go on tour" as they would be making $.
the flip side is adding $1000 is much different, i'm not discouraging that plan or knocking it. I just am not sure if its the highest and best use of the money. With travel costs, rooms, entry fee's, cost of being away from biz(for some people) make going to a tourney a expensive proposition. And $1000 is not enough money to sway many peoples minds-unless its close to their home.
thats my vision of added money, I dont think $1000 here and there is the highest and best use of the cash. However I fail to have a better suggestion at this time.
My profession was DM or Direct Marketing, I sold data bases to banks(I'm the guy who caused lots of your junk mail-snail mail, not email). And operated mass marketing businesses selling 100,000's of customers each year from one office. Sales promotion's and related things in that field. So I have a good grip on how to move lots of people with effective advertising. If I had all the facts about how much $ is available and how to put it to its best use without pissing anyone off I would suggest a plan. I dont have all the facts nor do I want to piss anyone off.
I like what Mochy does with the kids in Japan.
