Right play at the wrong time

The surprising thing to all was not that the hit won more, but it actually cost fewer gammons as well. I have to admit I thought I was risking some gammons but felt the wins more than compensated.
I hit, he came in immediately and hit back, I danced, he rolled 1-1 and swept the inner board and I never moved again.
After listening to several people lecture me about what a blunder it was to leave the anchor and tearing apart my defense of the play in spite of the score, we put it in XG and the room got very quiet as everyone's recommended play (to my 3 point) came up a .203 blunder.
It does feel great to make the right play, when it's a tough play, whether you win or lose, and of course I would not have been able to get to sleep knowing that I had the great MCG on the ropes and blew it with a bonehead play.
As far as who deserved some luck or not, everyone gets the luck they deserve in this game and in over 20 years since I made a resolution to never complain about my luck or rolls I have kept that resolution. Not even once did I point out how fucking lucky Matt was to come in and hit and then roll that 1-1 and how crappy it was for me to dance and not come in and anchor and how he never left a shot after that and then even when I could have rolled a double or two to get off the gammon I didn't. I don't even notice things like that and I would certainly never point it out. That's just not my style.
