Gammon rate in $ Games?

Sorry, I do not understand your argument or what your point is.

When you say "To make things clearer, let's call XG's rates, where playing itself the win rates are 36% for each side, with gammon rates of 14% for each side, "optimal." you have optimal in quotes. Do you mean that it is not being used in its usual sense?

Suppose that a new bot comes along and when playing itself there are 36% wins but only 13% gammons. Furthermore this bot has a very slight edge against XG in head to head play. Would that mean that 13% gammon rate is better than 14% gammon rate?
