Two questions

Unless I'm way off base I assume most everyone would play 9/5 in this position, so I'm just going to post the rollout now.
First question: The race is even and there is no pressing need for Blue to split the back men, so why is it correct to leave a direct shot, particularly when most of White's 5s don't do much?
Second question: When I asked for an XGR++ evaluation, only one play (9/6 5/4*) came back with the XG "book" icon in front of it. This seems odd, since it's XGR++'s 6th best move. What gives?
