Standard early game wisdom is that making either 5pt beats making either 4pt. This position may be an exception.

After Blue plays this 42, the race will be a virtual tie. Are the two candidates equally good for the race? They are probably close. The safety of the anchor might be a bit better for racing. From the 20pt, a big doublet makes the transition to a pure race a little easier.

The problem with the making the 20pt, however, is that it gives White room to play his awkward rolls. I would make the 4pt here, hoping that White has trouble playing safe.
