Our little study group has been running for a little over a month now. A quick status...
We usually see about 6 members attending each week.
We have: - been leveraging the mindgamescenter lessons to work on subjects together and then study them throughout the week.
- setting up positions in XG and trying to understand them better as a team
- started an internal swiss backgammon tournament to get to know each other better and have fun.
- been video conferencing every saturday morning (afternoon in europe)on google hangouts for a couple of hours.
Today we had our first outside presentation, Thanks to Phil Simborg, who talked about how to best study and learn backgammon.
I have established a website/blog/forum/study materials library for our members.
Having a similar skill level has been very productive in that we are all learning and contributing effectively so far and I think the members are having fun. I know I am and have added reference positions and skills each week that are useful to my game.
Google Hangouts can handle 10 concurrent video participants so we still have a bit of room for you if you are interested and playing matches in the 6-9PR range.
If you have any questions please feel free to either post them or shoot me an email if you are a lurker.
thanks, Robert
