Is bot analysis of manually altered positions reliable?

your assumption implys that the evaluation function is pretty fragile. But neural networks are pretty good in generalization and BG is extremely well suited. In fact they are astonishingly well and even in unusual positions they often play better than humans (although it depends a bit on the bot to a certain degree).
Therefore your position might be never seen in real play but it easily can be evaluated with normal reasoning. The evaluation might break e.g. with 14 checkers back or so but not on this
BTW my arguments are purely empirical: the evaluation is good in most of the cases and if you have seen how a neural net gains knowledge only after a few thousand games it is always amazing...
ciao
