Backgammon tournaments

Hi!

Backgammon Studio is filling up with matches from tournaments all over the globe. But sometimes the information is a bit inaccurate or multiple names are used for the same tournament. Ideally one tournament is only using one name in order it to be easier to locate matches from a particular tournament (in a tournament name dropdown for instance).

For instance is "Novi" the same as "Las Vegas Open"?

I'd love to clean this up and create aliases for the different names in order to clean the data up a bit. Going through the list now I just spotted "Los Angeles" which I mapped to "LA Open".

Also if you think a tournament should be called something else than what it appears in the database I'd love to hear from you. For instance should it be called "Los Angeles Open" instead?

Currently there are 42 matches in the "Unsorted" tournament which isn't ideal. Some may be possible to identify from the filename while others lack any kind of clue where (or even when) it was played. If there is a date I can go to chicagopoint and check which tournament was played at that date.

I have started to adopt a filename policy on the matches that I import that includes the year and the tournament it was played in order to make it easy to identify this even if the file should be sent around on its own.

For instance:

Rune Halvorsen (3.80) - Tore Fredriksen (2.77) 3pt Oslo Masters 2016-01-22.xg

I also include the PR for each player as this will make the server use these values instead of trying to calculate it from the match itself (which unfortunately isn't 100% accurate).

Let us make it easy for future backgammon archaeologists! :-) And as it turns out me too...

Best regards,
TP

PS. Can you spot any duplicates/incorrect tournament names in this list?
