A direct formula for calculating the Dead Cube Take Point, without using MET data!

My friends gave me some feedback on my previous post "Have you noticed this before?" and suggested that I draw more attention using a better Title.

Here is a direct formula for calculating the Dead Cube Take Point (DCTP), without using the Match Equity Table (MET) data!

DCTP = P/2(O+P-1)

P: player score-away O: opponent score-away

Yes! you don't need to memorize or calculate the MET, you can directly calculate the TP.

The formula is valid with acceptable precision for all scores for a 5pt match and most for a 7pt match but starts to loos precision beyond 5-a 5-a.
