There are clearly many more players of joining the elite band of Grandmasters around the World. I would estimate that in the next 3-5 years there could be 60-70 Grandmasters on BMAB's list with perhaps 25-30 at Grandmaster (Class 2) or above.

Many countries are still relatively unrepresented as yet and I would urge their players, associations and federations to make to engage with BMAB and take their fair and proper share of the prestigious accolades available. Of course the same applies to those legends of our game who have become partially or wholly inactive in recent years.
