BRITISH BACKGAMMON TOP TEN (EXPERTS' CHOICE)

A Ranking list has been derived from a poll of the top active tournament players in the UK (Giants, Grandmasters and Masters) together with representatives of National Organisational Bodies. (80% of the 28 "Experts" consulted agreed to vote). Each of the expert voters diligently endeavoured to make serious and informed assessments of the leading active players who would be eligible to represent the UK in national teams. A few background / explanatory notes are given below:
1. Voters were asked to select five players for the first five places in no specific order and then similarly for the second 5 places.
2. Each player received one credit for a first-5 selection and a half credit for a second-5 selection.
3. The overall points score converts maximum credits reached to 100 points, and then uses the same ratio for all players.
4. Only active players who are currently eligible to play for the United Kingdom at live (not online) tournaments were considered by the voters.
6. To ensure no influence on the voters , a list of candidates was not used.
