Automaker homeostasis (OT)

In the 80's, the US government bailed out Chrysler.

In the 90's, Daimler bought out Chrysler.

In the 00's, Daimler sold out for about half what it paid a decade ealier.

So did you hear about the latest Chrysler promotion? Dodge Challenger with 6.1 liter V-8 ("hemi") that puts out 425 horsepower. AND they'll guarantee (presumably refund the difference?) $2.99/gallon gas for THREE years. (Probably some more fine print, like a mileage limit, but still...)

The next out ought to be OUT the door.
