I agree with this. One is very unlikely to attempt to roll onto the board with his hands. And I always thought that using a cup AND a baffle box was a bit of a "belt and suspenders" approach to ensuring random rolls.

Add to that the fact that the opening on some baffle boxes is small enough to make it slightly difficult to try to hit the box with both dice from a cup. This is particularly the case with Phil's small version of his old baffle box. Trying to hit that thing with both dice from a cup can lead to an increase in dice on the table or on the floor.

Why do the new rules specify that a baffle box needs to be fed from a cup?
