BOSTON OPEN 2017 (Feb 23-26) - new ABT event!

A new ABT tournament is on the map — and on the calendar:
1st Annual BOSTON OPEN February 23rd - 26th Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor (at Logan Airport)
New England Backgammon Club in cooperation with Ross Gordon and our friends in Connecticut will be hosting its first major tournament event in over a decade this February in what we hope will be an ongoing annual event. This will be our first ABT-sanctioned tournament in Boston, we’ll have some added prize money from USBGF and a prize board donated by Crisloid, and local hero Bill Robertie will administer a free new Backgammon Quiz of his own devising.
We realize that 2 months is somewhat short notice, but wanted to capitalize on current momentum in NEBC backgammon attendance in the Boston area and what many of us are perceiving to be a general resurgence of interest in the game. We hope to see many familiar faces and a strong regional turnout as well.
A small note: the Hotel reservation page is defaulting to Saturday the 25th as the start day, which you will certainly want to correct to an earlier date if you are coming — the rate is available from Weds night through Monday night.
