Is Snowie still relevant?

In RGB, someone started a discussion by saying that in a given position XG played 5/4 1/off(3) which he thought to be a bug because 5/4(4) should be the right play.
I don't want to duplicate the thread here, so just read the first 4 messages in https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.games.backgammon/X9ypTmJ1IBo/axXHgN0pCwAJ
In the 4th message, someone replied saying "Yes, very strange, gnubg rollout agrees with XG rollout and by a similar equity difference! {5/4 1/off(3) vs 5/4(4)}"
I don't know what ply they used in their rollouts but Snowie 3-ply says:
1. 3 5/4(4) 2.737
2. 3 5/4(2) 1/off(2) 2.723 (-0.013)
3. 3 4/3(2) 1/off(2) 2.715 (-0.021)
4. 3 5/4 1/off(3) 2.715 (-0.022)
5. 3 5/3(2) 2.712 (-0.024)
So, my question is: does Snowie still get any respect?
And my comments is: I see this as just another small indication of incest in the family (between XG and GNUBG) that nobody wants to speak about! :(
