I think the attack would be correct at DMP, and if so, then attack is certainly correct here. Attack gives us the chance to closeout with 2 white checkers on the bar, and that is our best chance for gammon.

I think we need to seize the initiative before our opponent does, and running to the bar point gives our opponent the optimum opportunity to take the initiate from us.
