Question on "extras"

Assume the rule is "consulting after your cube is turned."

The player offering an extra is now on the Doubler's side, but is not allowed to consult. If the Taker reships and the Offerer accepts, are they still prohibited from consulting?

I know how we do it in OUR chouette, but there has been some discussion about whether we are "right." I'm interested in how other chouettes handle it.
