Mochy awarded the title of Super Grandmaster

We have the greatest pleasure in announcing that Masayuki Mochizuki, of Japan, has been awarded the title of Super Grandmaster (Class 3) by virtue of excellent performance in many tournaments around the world over several months. By achieving the average PR of 2.40 over more than 300 consecutive experience points (27 matches) he satisfied BMAB requirements for this grade level. According to the BMAB rules, this lifetime award can never be degraded.

For a long time, many had believed that this title cannot be achieved by a human. However, this exceptional player has proved just how wrong they were. Not only Mochy was able to break this threshold, but he did it with some millipoints to spare. Mochy is is a living proof that we should not dismiss what a human can and cannot do just yet. Congratulations to Mochy for this remarkable achievement.
