‘Pure Strategy’: The ‘human’ neural net.
Olsen tries to set up a ‚human’ neural set, which isn’t an exact copy of a bot neural net. It should be instead a translation, which is to handle for humans, coming up with similar results, to estimate the ‘value’ of a position. If Neil Kazaross for instance is coming up with a guess about a take, he usually describes it in words; he is giving not a range of numbers. Sure, there are positions, that can be calculated, you can calculate takepoints, you can hone the race with formulas, but there is a wide field, you have to tackle in a different way. And here, Olsen is coming up with a structure, to imitate the bot way, to handle for humans; it is the way to see the same in the different (exceptions are vice-versa: to see the different in the same):
Inputs (basic layer): fundamental concepts, complex concepts, hyper-comlex concepts
Hidden layer neurons (second layer): meta concepts: prime-value, blitz-value, race-value, contact-value.
Both layers are a relationship of equations, summing up in the end to an
Output neuron: position value or ‘equity’.
What is a concept? It is a human heuristic, which encaptures a specific pattern or characteristic. It should improve the likelihood of making correct decisions. It has to be measurable or quantifiable, somehow. His meaning has to be clarified. It has to be utility for us humans to understand the strategy (second layer).
The old mantra was: position, race and threats.
Olsen: prime, blitz, race, contact.
If we try to rescue our nice little acronym ‘PRAT’, we can try this:
Position (prime) Race (race) Attack (blitz) Turn-around (contact)
[My favour task is, to see the same in the different. You can tackle play-call decisions with ‘ZEUS’, in American Football. So there may be also a PRAT:
Position (pass-play), Race (running game), Attack (pass-rush, blitz and dog schemes), Turn-around (interceptions, ‘hail-marys’).]
The next task is, to identify the concepts, their importance for meta concepts, their weight and relationship in each range of the meta-concepts, depending on her relationship with other concepts.
