Historical Accuracy

The list of Backgammon World Champions on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_Backgammon_champions has long been in error because it included Alice Topping in 1969 (no tournament that year) and the three European Championship winners in Monte Carlo from 1976-1978 (when the World Championships were actually held in the Bahamas and were distinctly different tournaments).

I have tided up the list this morning and I believe that the list is now a true reflection of those who have won the World Backgammon Championship.

Note that Akiko was the 50th (and the 46th) person to hold that venerable title. Next year's tournament in Monte Carlo will be the 51st WC event and it would be good if it could be numbered correctly!
