CPU question

I'm comparing two Intel processors: the Q6700 (2.66 GHz clockspeed, 1066 MHz FSB, 8 MB cache) and the Q9300 (2.5 GHz clockspeed, 1333 MHz FSB, 6 MB cache).

Assume price is the same (so not a consideration for this choice).

Assume my apps are processor intensive (any guesses :), not memory hogs, not I/O hogs. What is the downside of choosing the older but faster Q6700 over the newer but slower Q9300? Are there other issues besides those listed above that I'm missing (but shouldn't)?
