Cost of 41 slot

I'm familiar with the XG 'book' view that slotting with a 4-1 opener is marginally inferior. But I'm puzzled to find that XG views this slot as an opening play in a 7-point match a substantial -.039 error.

In a 5-point match it rates the slot as -.012.

Why would the slot be more costly at a longer match length? And isn't money play the "longest" of match scores?

I feel like I have a big conceptual gap here?
