Help requested re: chess -- OT

There is a growing possibility that Frank and I will be interviewed for a major cable channel's segment about ZEUS. We are pushing for the theme: Many disciplines have used computer simulations/predictions/training for decision making but NFL has stonewalled the idea.

We have some obvious apps, like BG (duh), securities investing, and particle physics. But an area that has in the past gotten a lot of press (Deep Blue) is chess.

What are the best accessible chess programs, what are their ratings, how much do they cost, etc? It would be valuable if we could show on part of the video a screenshot of a strong chess bot.
