A well-written article with the known facts covered accurately.

But I still think we should search for more evidence. It is likely (IMO) that the two popular magazine articles (New Yorker from 1930, Vanity Fair 1931) have the same information source. The next step is the search the Harvard archives. That is going to be a tall task, given the language issues (Russian and French) and the often difficult issue of reading handwriting.

A smoking gun has been recovered. Now let's find the written confession.
