Perry: The Quiz is scheduled to be early on Monday.

Richard: Stick already has the first 5 moves of any backgammon game committed to memory...

Stick up and about early in the morning? This could surely shatter his reputation and thus lead to self-shame. (Unless of course he just made it part and parcel of his "evening" and then retired after the quiz.)
