Cube error rates

Yes the errors are consecutive, but not cumulative. I believe you should only be penalized for the largest non-doubling error made during the current state of the cube. When the state of the cube changes, such as from double to too good, your largest error up to that point should be locked in. This assumes that the goal in defining error rates is to see how much your errors cost you in MWC. A series of missed doubles do not cost you, in MWC, any more than the largest error of the series, as long as the cube is in the same state. See the example I posted in the reply to MCG. If the goal is more a test of how many errors you make on individual plays and you are not concerned with how much each error influenced the match, then it is okay to count the cumulative errors, but the error rates will not be accurate in stating the chances of one player over another, just the chances of making fewer errors on individual plays.
