Over the board thoughts

I honestly did not have any idea how to play this correctly.

I thought if if hit and send two checkers into my home I would be begging to get gammoned. So I eliminated that play.

I did want to hit, but the second part of the play meant breaking the mid and leaving more shots. One more play eliminated.

Then I looked again at my timing and thought if I can some how prevent the lone checker from escaping I might be able to get my anchor to the edge of the prime and jump it, along with trapping that back checker. Does this sound like I am begging? You bet I am. I played two down from the mid. At the very least I was offering only 1 direct and 1 indirect shot.

Once again Snowie told me in her analyses; maybe checkers is more your game!

Thanks for your thoughts in helping me see through this play. I will take up the one suggestion and look at Modern Backgammon.
