I think I've been doing too much BG (OT)

I went to the cinema today for only the second time in a couple years. In the previews (which I note are many), I saw Steve Sax and Carter Mattig. In the main feature, the protagonist was Stick Rice, 25 years in the future.

It would be nearly impossible to guess who the Sax and Mattig characters were, but anyone got a guess on Rice?
