21S-43X i am aware bots usually play like this, but i never learned WHY. I don't see any sound reasoning for a tempo hit. What's your opinion Nack?

Let's start with this. In which of the second roll positions below would you play Z (reverse split, 24/21 13/9) and in which would you play X (hit-and-split, 24/21 6/2*)? Is the answer the same in all three positions? If not, why not?

Anybody is welcome to answer (though especially Leonardo).

(For purposes of this discussion, assume that you are choosing only between Z and X. Ignore the fact that in the first position there are three other plays that are at least as strong.)
