poker losing its luster? (OT)

BTW, I'm not in favor of or relishing this, just observing.

1) Did the WSOP even get mentioned here this year (while it was in full swing)?

2) Last night I watched some of ESPN's coverage of day 5. Pathetic. You almost never got to see a full hand, but a LOT of all-in showdowns. Yeh, those are informative, educational, intellectually-challenging.

3) I haven't seen any WPT telecasts on Travel Channel in a long time. FoxSports (regional) has something called "WPT circuit" or similar, but I think that's a bunch of (lame) amateurs.

I don't get the GameShow network. Even if everything has moved there, IMO that's a bad sign since it's not a widely subscribed channel (AFAIK).

If the typical viewer isn't interested in watching unless all they telecast are showdowns, BG's got no shot at ever making it (in the US, anyway).
