Is Paris Burning? (somewhat OT)

How big a deal is this unrest over the proposed increase in retirement age? Is travel (e.g. air, taxi) hindered? Or is this just a typical let's make 20,000 mostly peaceful protesters sound like 20,000,000 unruly ones?

Given that the US age for full Social Security is already 66 and GB is planning on upping their government pension age to the same, I think we should all move to France even if their change in enacted. :)

What's the retirement situation in Germany, BTW?
