Rice book reviews

Like most of you (I assume) I bypass this site's homepage to get to the forum. I only hit the homepage when I'm looking for early game rollout results, and then I hone in on the topic I'm seeking. So...

Today I was surprised to see a book review tab, further surprised there was something in it besides blank pages :), and most surprised when reading them to find Stick being nice in pointing out the pluses of these works while (something I'm in agreement with) downplaying or even ignoring their shortcomings.

But one omission in particular struck me as surprising: Robertie's Modern Backgammon.

1) He hasn't read it. P(this) << 0.0001.

2) He just hasn't gotten up the energy to write the review.

3) He isn't as impressed as many others are with this work.

4) Other explanation (fill in the blank).
