In Response To: Nactation: match annotation study (Nack Ballard)

I find that Nactation for early-game positions is O.K. but that it quickly becomes confusing after that. In the opening, there are a few common themes captured by your symbols, but things get more complicated later, so there would be more symbols to remember, perhaps with complicated explanations for mnemonics, etc. (e.g. M for "Mayfair Split" or m for who knows what). In general I prefer an unambiguous system of notation.

You might reply that Nactation is unambiguous after one reads the latest manual, but for me that's unnecessary work--that is, unless many people were to adopt Nactation for use beyond the opening, in which case I suppose I'd adapt without kvetching.
