Pitt Sunday AM before play begins

Here is what it is for the Open:

8-player bracket will be filled, and all 8 cash. Right now four players are in:

Bill Davis (6-0), Grant Schneider (6-1), Alfred Mamlet (6-1), Mark Gordon (5-1).

The following 12 players must fight (in some kind of playoff -- I don't know the details) for the last 4 spots: Mel Rappaport, Ray Fogerlund, UBK, Bill Versaw, Chris Knapp, Gary Fries, Petko Kostadinov, Matt Reklaitis, Bill Calton, Emil Mortuk, Richard Munitz, Dennis Culpepper.

Neil had asked how the first seven rounds were paired. The first three rounds were pre-drawn, meaning the directors knew who would play in each round. Thus, unlike Swiss, there was no attempt to match players with equal records. The 4th round was similar (AFAIK), but with the 0-3 players removed. Rounds 5, 6, 7 were Swiss.
