Settlement ?

That's not a settlement Bob! That's a crapshoot. If I were playing an expert like you, for significant sums, you'd have already agreed to play Final Roll Settlements. Every time we get into a situation like this, we always settle fairly. Clearly, blue should pay 3.55... recurring points. (Don't know how to do fractions on this keyboard.) Or 32/9, being vulgar. (All this talk about settling odds and ends up with beer - not precise enough for me, but at least they've got the right idea in settling.)
Best way to deal with such figures is to play for a sensible stake, like £9/point, or $18 (is that a fair comparison; can't be bothered to look up the exchange rate - I know the dollar's always been chickenfeed compared to the UK Pound). Certainly not arbitrary figures like '10's or whatever. Then the fractions fit in perfectly at the dreaded time of settling up. Glad to be able to educate you on how best to play. Wally Peever is a frequent guest in my home, and this is the way we always play. Incidentally, Peever is the biggest whiner I have ever known in more than three decades of playing backgammon.
