Q: So, there's no way to expert moves with * at all?

A: that's correct. Maybe it would be a good idea to add in the save as section of the save dialog when you export a second entry "Jellyfish format (compatibility mode)" and if not picked use the regular move formating function and the current language. I'll think about that.
