Streaming from Monte Carlo - problems

This may not apply to the World Class Players but I can say that for people like me (and I know many others at my skill level who feel the same way) - Watching live play is a lot ore interesting. Doing it all through a bot or software is low bandwidth but I think it may make the game less interesting to watch. A live video feed keeps some of the human element.

As for it being just for XG users? Hmm, think that is a bad idea in general. That would require people to have purchased the bot or someone who has part of their free trial period left. Would people want to buy 3rd party software? (remember not all backgammon players want to spend a lot of money). Since we are dealing with a very low bandwidth the main cost would be paying someone to enter the match manually. This solution would of course require someone to be around constantly doing a lot of work doing entry. Video Streaming can be a lot more hands off (except for tech glitches)

So the question is. What is the goal of making matches available in real time? The answer to that would help dictate the method that is used.

On a side note, and this is just a personal view. After getting so interested in watching people playing live, I have more of an itch to get out there and do it myself! I have not had that same feeling in the past. My opinion is that live streaming may be a better method of roping people into getting out and finally playing live.
