Streaming from Monte Carlo - problems

M.P.: Watching live play is a lot ore interesting. Doing it all through a bot or software is low bandwidth but I think it may make the game less interesting to watch.
Agreed, but presently watching just hurts the eyes. At this quality I can't enjoy and I can't concentrate on the interisting BG decisions ... because before you have identified the dice, the decision is made. I would be willing to go without the social aspects if I could see the rest properly. But that's just my personal opinion. I did really enjoy those transmissions on TMG, I presently don't with the live streams (at the present quality).
M.P.: As for it being just for XG users? Hmm, think that is a bad idea in general. That would require people to have purchased the bot or someone who has part of their free trial period left. Would people want to buy 3rd party software?
A lot of others solutions are possible. Record it with XG and present it (realtime) on a website or BG server. Still this needs some development and of course someone to enter the match manually.
M.P.: (remember not all backgammon players want to spend a lot of money)
I do. It wasn't my idea to charge watchers for the live stream ;-)
M.P.: On a side note, and this is just a personal view. After getting so interested in watching people playing live, I have more of an itch to get out there and do it myself!
Good luck! I would LOVE to follow a World Championship (or other major tournaments). Any progress here would be highly appreciated!
Cheers,
Hardy ;-)
