Streaming from Monte Carlo - problems

Hardy: "Agreed, but presently watching just hurts the eyes. At this quality I can't enjoy and I can't concentrate on the interisting BG decisions ... because before you have identified the dice, the decision is made. I would be willing to go without the social aspects if I could see the rest properly. But that's just my personal opinion. I did really enjoy those transmissions on TMG, I presently don't with the live streams (at the present quality). "
I already know that the USBGF knows the quality for Monte Carlo is not what they expected at all. I totally agree with you here. It is harder to watch this compared to what was produced for Novi. The main issue with Novi was that the camera wasn't mounted right above the board, and sometimes the glare on the dice made it unreadable - BUT it was a lot easier to watch (minus the ads). I actually watched Novi streamed to my TV in full screen, and I didn't get a headache.
Hardy: "A lot of others solutions are possible. Record it with XG and present it (realtime) on a website or BG server. Still this needs some development and of course someone to enter the match manually. "
I agree with this, and I think is a better idea. Development would be needed with such a solution.
Hardy "I do. It wasn't my idea to charge watchers for the live stream ;-) "
I don't mind the cost for premium events. I will spend money for something that is worth it. I did donate a small amount of funds for current streaming because I believe in principle with what the USBGF is trying to achieve. I hope over time that through some trial and error that a balance is found to make future streams more viewable.
