This rhetorically titled blank post deserves a response.
DMP games, though they lack the involvement and added complexity of the cube, gammons and backgammons are, nonetheless STILL backgammon! They can be very complex - back games, for example. With respect to bearoffs, firstly, the side that begins the no contact phase of a game in front will tend to be the better player. And bearoffs, though they are very largely decided by luck (not entirely) - certainly much more so than other phases of the game - are, nonetheless STILL backgammon.
Penalty shootouts, however, are NOT football! They are something we have invented, that is football related, to replace the previous method of deciding ties in knockout games, ie the drawing of lots. This applied in the FIFA World Cup, for example, up to and including 1970. It was never actually needed in the World Cup final tournaments. Further, it would not apply in the actual final itself until after a REPLAY and more extra time. (And prior to 1962, all knockout games had provision for a replay.)
I say penalty shootouts are football related, though it is clear that they have very little relation to the skills/aptitudes of the regular game. These include of course tackling, passing, intercepting passes, taking throw ins, corners and free kicks, dribbling, acceleration, reading the game etc etc. I think that a true football fan would much rather watch a replay, two days later say, than the carnival side show that is a penalty shootout.
