Paul outplayed his opponent in the last 2 games as well when in terms of mwc it becomes more and more important. So if he was aware that it might be a take you can think about a tactical drop here, giving the opponent more possibilities to create errors later on and he was not wrong after all

I went into the match broadcast at 19-19 and as far as I remeber everybody in the chat was expecting a drop here. Gullota missed 2 cubes and a borderline 3rd cube in that game and maybe it is the psychology that let one think to punish the late cube with a drop.
