MC Semi-Final Key Doubling Decision

I once took a similar game (in terms of equity he was about 55% favorite with 22% gammons) thinking that my opponent would not play it so well and besides it was a take, quarter final of a limited jackpot where I felt I was a favorite if I got through that match. To my horror my opponent did everything right to play for a gammon, I danced a few times etc, got closed out and lost gammon for match - did not sleep well for a few days! I think his position was a bit easier to play than this one, still... Every one I spoke to said the same thing, it was clear at 2 away 4 away you drop anything gammonish. Snowie if I remember said it was a drop I suppose due to the score..but not a blunder to take, but it sure felt like a huge blunder after I got gammoned!
