The problem is that many weaker players wait to long to cube at this score and then if taken, don't play hard enough for the G.
Watch some beginner or intermediate matches (the weaker intermediates) or play some weaker players online and you'll see my point.
Of course none of this is to be interpreted as me thinking that Fabio could err here. However, no one can dispute that from what we saw in that match Peever is at least 100 Elo stronger and since this is only a close play one at even strength, it seems clear to cash. Being 69%+ rather than 66.87% reduces his gammon value and results in less relative gain from winning said gammon.
