Maybe I'm old-fashioned or cynical, but I tend to avoid financial arrangements with persons I have never met and I am unlikely to see ever again.

At least, that's how I feel after I wired $12,000 to that nice Nigerian princess and never received the $74,000,000 she had promised me.

When I hedged (actually, split) the prize money in Menton, the director encouraged me to involve him in the process. My opponent and I made the agreement and shook hands in front of the director (Marco). That was that.

I seem to recollect that several years ago in Vegas, the Calcutta process involved buying back from the staff and then collecting independently. This seems to be the way to go, especially with an international crowd.
