Bottom up solution.

This is a problem i got aware through your post. I use Safari as my standard browser. In "settings" under the rubrik tabs, i choose new sites automatically open in tabs, and then open "links" in a new tab. So when i close the tab with the link, voila, bgonline tab.

You see there is a way bottom up. Top down isn't necessary. And if Safari will have this, i think Firefox also.
