WOW .. do I have some differences in opinion from other players here.
IMO players shouldn't touch their pieces unless the dice are rolled unless they are unstacking (ie 6 or more on a point and wasn't room) or adjusting the checker to make sure that it is positioned only on 1 pt. If you want to adjust, say "adjust" as in chess. Same for touching the opp's pieces..you can only touch the one you are hitting and if he's made a stack somewhere, say "adjust" prior to adjusting or ask him to do so.
This will prevent some checker shuffling and the arguements or errors that might occur.
A few years ago someone in a position like this below when counting pips and being aware that a CB is 42 pips manually moved the extra spares from the 5 and 3 points to the 4 pts and then counted 46. When I objected he appologized and not to reposition checkers when counting again.
LOL this is supposed to be a game of skill.how hard is is to take 42-4+8=46?
