Always run the last checker! That is a useful rule when you have escaped one.
What is also good to remember is that when you have an advanced anchor, don't run from it when behind in the race; when ahead, usually you can wait for doubles to move them safely together, or if you have a better board and not much time to wait, you can consider running off it.
